The "walk for the Animals" raises money and awareness for the Humane Society. Its family friendly and has food and fun. Plus, you get to take the shelter dogs for walks!

Adventures in Travel Expo
September 13-14 10AM - 4PM

Presented by The Seattle Times and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the Adventures in Travel Expo will offer Seattle area public and travel professionals a one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience the best of today's travel industry. In this experiential marketplace, attendees can interact and comparison shop with hundreds of destinations, travel experts and tour operators, attend expert seminars, experience hands-on adventure activities including scuba diving lessons, kayaking and fly fishing demonstrations, an aerial zip line and a rope adventure course and observe unique cultural performances.
Monroe Boys and Girls Club & St. Jude's Making a Difference Walk-A-Thon: A Day F
The Monroe Boys and Girls Club has partnered with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The Club will host a, "Walk-A-Thon" on 9/19/08 as part of our, "Making a Difference For St. Jude" and "Day For Kids" Events! Members are encouraged to acquire monetary pledges and donations for distance walked/ran. Support and sponsorship from friends, family & local businesses is strongly encouraged. Members who raise $35 or more in pledges will win prizes! All pledges will go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. (Pledges are not necessary to participate) This is a FREE event! Expect to see lots of Families, Food, Fitness and Fun! The Monroe Boys and girls club will be offering free 2 week trial memberships and all youth ages 5-18 are welcome. The first 25 kids signed up will get a free, "Day For Kids" pedometer. Come sweat it out for a good cause!

FAAN's: Walk for Food Allergy: Moving Toward A Cure
September 6th, 2008 Check-in begins at 9:00 a.m.; Walk begins at 10:00 a.m.

FAAN is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise public awareness, to provide advocacy and education, and to advance research on behalf of all those affected by food allergies and anaphylaxis. Twelve million Americans have food allergies, and about 61,144 children in Washington State cope with food allergies daily.
